Hot Texts

On the verge of a severe storm that never came, Farnoosh Fathi and I read last night for Belladonna's Hot Texts series.
Farnoosh capitalized on the poetic and satirical possibilities of an all-caps e-missive from a near-stranger, and shared it via good old Xerox handouts.
I read a bunch of new poems--including one forthcoming in The Philadelphia Review of Books, another in Black Warrior Review--and a couple of old ones, which I may retire from the reading circuit soon.

Emily Skillings, who curated, was spot-on in her pairing of Farnoosh's work and mine, and she gave an intro that was so illuminating, I felt like I needed to go sit in a dark corner and think about it for a bit.
Thanks to Emily, Farnoosh, and all who came out--it was lovely to see each and every one of you.
And keep up with the goings-on of Belladonna here.
